Former Miss Universe South Africa 2001 Celebrates World Breastfeeding Week with Lovely Instagram Post

Jo-Ann Strauss represented South Africa at the 2001 Miss Universe Competition, and she continues to inspire women around the world by advocating for World Breastfeeding Week.

See Instagram post below:

“Today marks the start of #WorldBreastFeedingWeek- the importance of breastfeeding cannot be overlooked or trivialized or stigmatized. It is a powerful way to decrease infant mortality as the 2nd leading cause of death in children under 5 is diarrhea and by breastfeeding babies, infant mortality rates can be improved materially. Ironically we get more "likes" when pictures with cleavage are posted and some debates about breastfeeding being "disgusting" when a mom posts a picture of the most natural thing in the world. Please support moms who breastfeed.

She received only positive feedback from her followers and we thank her for using her platform to inspire and support women by challenging the stigma of breastfeeding.
